Coincidentally, USA Today just ran a story The Golf Blog covered today: square drivers. The article is chalk full of negative comments by TaylorMade about the square design. Of course, TaylorMade doesn’t make a square driver; its competitors Callaway and Nike do. According to the article:
“Square drivers didn’t go on sale to the public until last weekend, but Mark King, the CEO of TaylorMade Adidas Golf, was predicting the demise of the design well before Nike’s Sumo Saturday. ‘The square-headed driver phenomenon will be over in about 90 days,’ King told Golfweek magazine.”
