After Tiger Woods won at Firestone in Akron for the 7th time last week, it’s not hard to conclude that he likes that course. But what about Hazeltine in Minnesota? At Hazeltine in 2002, Rich Beem defeated Tiger Woods (who was trailing, but made a late charge) to win the PGA. And, we all saw, yesterday, Hazeltine make history by being the site of Tiger Woods’ first defeat at a major after leading 54 holes, blemishing his 8-0 record. Though Tiger has finished 2nd both times and played well, Hazeltine is not the source of Tiger’s fondest memories.
What say you, dear Readers, should Hazeltine now host a U.S. Open?
