The season is winding down, and the FedEx Cup about to be decided. But the real competition appears not to be between Tiger Woods and the field, but between Ian Poulter and Stewart Cink … on Twitter. Ian Poulter is pretty popular there with close to 600,000 followers. But he’s still behind the No.1 golfer on Twitter. Yes, Stewart Cink, this year’s British Open champion, who has over 868,000 followers.
Well, this past week, Ian offered this deal for more followers: “When I hit a million followers, I will do a massive give away. irons, woods, putters, gloves, balls, glasses, hats, ea games, and much more. So guys spread the word lets get my numbers up so i can do a massive give away session. I would love to do that, signed stuff etc.” That prompted reporter Gary van Sickle to ask: “Ian Poulter trying to buy votes? He promises big giveaway of golf gear, etc., if he hits 1 million followers; asks fans to boost numbers.”
What say you, dear Readers, will Ian Poulter ever overtake Stewart Cink for the No. 1ranking on Twitter?
