Fresh off his 3rd Masters victory, Phil Mickelson is back in contention with a 4-under 68, 6-under for the tourney, just 2 back of leader Billy Mayfair. With Tiger Woods missing the cut, a Mickelson victory would make things very interesting in the World Rankings. We don’t really understand how the World Rankings are computed, but we heard on The Golf Channel that if Phil wins the next 2 tourneys and Tiger doesn’t do so well, Phil could overtake Tiger officially.
The Golf Blog says: Forget about the computer rankings! There’s no question that, right now, Phil Mickelson is the No. 1 player in golf. Sorry, Tiger.
