The Golf Blog says: There’s a difference between playing smart golf and stupid golf. Smart golf involves taking calculated risks only when necessary, but otherwise playing to one’s own strengths. Stupid golf involves taking unbelievably high risks even when not necessary and even though they don’t fall within one’s own strengths.
Well, on Sunday on the 2nd hole, Dustin Johnson took what, by all appearances, was really stupid golf. He tried to pitch the ball from the rough by the bunker LEFT-HANDED. Yes, that’s right, LEFT-HANDED.

There was no tree obstructing his swing from the right hand side, so we can only guess his stance was more level from the left-hand side. But, still, hitting the ball left handed with a right handed club is surely something you shouldn’t be trying unless you absolutely need to. (For example, you can always stand from the left hand side facing backwards, but still hit the ball with your right hand so the club face is square.) To make matters worse, Dustin then tried to hit his next pitch right handed, but nearly whiffed. Even though he still was tied for the lead after the triple bogey on 2, Dustin pretty much lost the tournament on that hole. He was never the same afterwards.
