The Golf Blog says: A few months ago, Paula Creamer cried on her father’s shoulder, not knowing if she would ever play professional golf ago. A nagging thumb and wrist injury required surgery, and the rehab ever since has gone very slowly.
Today, Paula put all of that out of her mind, though she sometimes winced in pain from her thumb. Paula also put to bed her past failures at the U.S. Open, where she’s squandered her leads in the past. This year was different. The only woman under par (at 3-under), Paula played a gritty back nine at storied Oakmont Country Club to capture her first U.S. Women’s Open and first major at the age of 23.
Congrats, Paula! Well done!
