The Golf Blog: Tiger Woods says new swing now “clicks”; Hank Haney predicts victory next week
The Golf Blog says: John Cook, friend of Tiger Woods, said he spent some time with Tiger on the range this week. According to Cook, “As of like Monday, it clicked, it finally clicked to him on what exactly where the face of the club needs to be at certain points, which really sounded to me like kind of old school Butch, but with a better face angle on his backswing, which means, wow, that’s something really good.”
Hank Haney, Tiger’s former coach before Sean Foley, then predicted on Twitter that Tiger will win next week: “@HankDHaney: I read where John Cook said it all clicked for Tiger on Monday with his swing I remember when that happened with me, he should win next week.”
Haha, Hank. Next week is the Accenture Match Play, which is a crapshoot to win. Also, did you skip over John Cook’s reference to Tiger’s swing under Butch Harmon, not you. There’s a consensus that Tiger’s swing was better under Butch. Click here for the analysis.
