The Golf Blog says: The PGA Championship began at the Atlanta Athletic Club. Tiger Woods was 3-under in the front nine after thinking about swing mechanics and feeling good about himself. Tiger then made a fateful decision: he said he thought was swinging well enough to “just let it go” and not think about swing mechanics. But he was wrong. He ended up having 4 bogeys and 3 double bogeys in the remaining holes–effectively throwing away the round. Tiger said his ball flight doesn’t move much, but his old swing thoughts expect the ball to shape much more both left and right. Hmm…why did Tiger change his swing so much in the first place? ?
Meanwhile, Steve Stricker almost set the low round in a major, finishing at 7-under (63). Stricker missed a 10-footer birdie putt on the final hole, which would have given him the record had he made it.
