The Golf Blog: Belly putter strikes again as Webb Simpson wins Deutsche Bank in playoff
The Golf Blog says: If you are not a believer in the belly putter, you should be. Webb Simpson one-putted the last 3 holes (2 in the playoff with Chez Reavie) to win the Deutsche Bank Championship. Simpson sunk a bomb on the final hole of regulation to pull within 1 shot of Reavie. Reavie than “laid up” on the short par -5 18th and then airmailed the green on his approach. Reavie missed the putt for par, and all the momentum swung in Webb Simpson’s favor. Both birdied the first hole of the playoff, but Reavie missed on the second. That left the door open for Simpson, who made his 3rd one-putt in a row–using the belly putter.
