The Golf Blog says: Playing in the penultimate group paired with Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson put on a Tiger-like dominating performance. Phil shot 64 to finish -17, while Tiger shot 75 to finish -8. Tony Romo, a scratch handicapper and Tiger’s playing partner in the Pro-Am, may have beaten Tiger today (from the amateur tee).
The field opened up as soon as 3rd round leader Charlie Wi 4-putted the first hole for a double bogey. Ouch.
Phil was unstoppable, though. Phil had 6 birdies and 1 eagle for his 8-under 64.
This was Phil’s fifth straight time defeating Tiger when paired in the final round. Last week, The Golf Channel’s Brandel Chamblee said Greg Norman ranks higher than Phil Mickelson all-time. Care to revise your view, Mr. Chamblee?
