The Golf Blog says: Na Yeon Choi, aka “NYC,” became the 4th woman from South Korea to win the US Women’s Open, finishing at an impressive -7, 4 shots clear of runner up Amy Yang. Choi and Yang were the only two golfers under par at the difficult Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin. Paula Creamer had the best finish for an American at +3.
Unfortunately, Michelle Wie had a disastrous weekend after an impressive 66 in the second round. Michelle shot 78 and 80 on the weekend, and finished +10, tied for 35. At the start of the day, she was tied for 13th. The 66 provided a glimmer of hope for Michelle that she might be able to turn around an abysmal season. But today’s 80 was another setback, in a career of setbacks.
