The Golf Blog says: It’s a sad state of golf “journalism” when reporters try to beat a dead horse by trumping up a long-over controversy between Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods after an incident that occurred at the Players Championship three weeks ago. Tiger himself asked people to move on last week, but this week again he was asked about the feud at the press conference yesterday. ESPN still covered the non-story. So did AP writer Doug Ferguson.
The Players ended nearly two weeks ago and it’s long past time to move on and talk about golf.

Leave it to Jack Nicklaus to put the golf beat reporters in their place:
“The Sergio-Tiger thing, I mean, it’s stupid. Do guys have an issue one with another? They usually resolve it themselves. You guys want to resolve it in the newspapers today. Nobody needs that. And I think they both finally said, ‘It’s enough. Forget it, guys. Let’s move on.’ In our days, I suppose there were times when you had an issue with somebody and it came about. You never read about it.”
