The Golf Blog says: On the 7th hole at Augusta, golf phenom Jordan Spieth opened up a 2-shot lead on Bubba Watson, the nearest competitor at the Masters, as Spieth played steady golf from the start. But on then the 8th and 9th hole, Spieth came a little unhinged. Spieth bogeyed and Bubba birdied the 8th and 9th holes, translating into a 4-shot swing and giving Bubba a 2-shot lead.
Spieth was never the same after that exchange. In fact, he was rattled and displayed poor body language for the better part of the back nine. Not the same guy as so many golf commentators praised as being “so composed” beyond his years. But he’s only 20 years old in his first Masters, so it was a learning experience. Spieth finished tied for second with fellow Masters rookie Jonas Blixt.
Bubba never looked back, hitting a prodigious 366-yard on the par-5 13th at Amen Corner. Unlike previous years when the Masters was won on the back nine, this year’s Masters was won on the 8th and 9th holes. The back nine was anti-climactic.
Congrats to Bubba on his second green jacket! Bubba golf!
Sunday at @The_Masters! It's going to be a great day! #Rejoice

Bubba Watson has done this twice in the last 3 years. Only 9 men have ever won the Masters 2 out of 3 years. pic.twitter.com/RNV7jF399u
