The Golf Blog says: Most of the day, no one could separate himself from the rest of pack. Brandt Snedeker flirted with it, momentarily getting to 5-under at Pinehurst before falling back. But, late in the day, German Martin Kaymer, this year’s Players Champion, posted a 5-under 65, setting an all-time record for low round at Pinehurst during a U.S. Open. Pretty amazing, considering that the course played tougher in the afternoon. Kaymer got up and down 6 times, on a nearly flawless round.
