The Golf Blog says: NBC’s coverage of the US Open on Sunday was a big flop, with only 3.3 overnight rating–down 46% from last year’s win by Justin Rose and 35% from Rory McIlroy’s 8-stroke win in 2011. (More here.) It didn’t help that Tiger Woods wasn’t even in the field, and Phil Mickelson never was in contention. Plus, Martin Kaymer opened up such a huge lead after the first round — there was never any drama all week. Nonetheless, still a great victory for Martin.
