The Golf Blog says: Sergio Garcia (-15) and Rickie Fowler (-15) made a valiant run on Sunday, but Rory McIlroy (-17) had too much of a lead to be caught. Sergio had a spectacular 66, while Rickie clawed his way to a 67. McIlroy played steady, conservative golf for a 1-under 71, on his way to his third career major and third leg of a career Grand Slam. Plus, Rory’s dad wins a bet that he placed when Rory was 15, that he would win before he turned 26 years old.

10 years ago, Rory McIlroy's dad & 3 friends bet he'd win The Open before turning 26. Last chance is looking good. http://t.co/2S9Npom1xg
