The Golf Blog says: Tiger Wooods’ vaunted short game has completely abandoned him. Even worse, he now has the dreaded chipping yips–yes, yips–and can’t seem to hit a chip off the fairway. Tiger’s resorted to hitting a 4-iron and putter on some holes instead of a wedge for his chips. He shot a 44 on his first nine and is poised to shoot an 82 at the aptly titled Waste Management Phoenix Open. It was Tiger’s worst round as a professional. He is dead last at +13.
After the round, Tiger said his swing change from Sean Foley (steep angle) to Chris Como (shallower angle) has affected his chipping because the bottom is different. Tiger said he won’t be staying around for the Super Bowl and will head home today.
