The Golf Blog says: 40-year=old Henrik Stenson shot a low round of the day, a 3-under 68 to take a 1 shot lead over Phil Mickelson. The next closest competitor is Jay Haas, who is 6 strokes back. It looks like Sunday will be a match between Stenson and Mickelson. Stenson’s iron game looks so strong, but he has yet to win a major so the pressure will be on him more than on the 46-year old Mickelson, who won the Open Championship in 2013, his last victory.
After the round, Phil admitted that his rhythm was off and he was not swinging it well. He went back to the range after his round. He shouldn’t be too discouraged with a 1-under 70, after making some tough saves.
