The Golf Blog says: Jordan Spieth had just hit his 5th bogey of the day and squandered the lead of the Open Championship for the first time to Matt Kuchar. It took 20 minutes for Jordan to hit his 2nd shot on the 13th hole because he took an unplayable (after he basically shanked his drive) and decided to go backwards to the practice tee to hit his next shot after the penalty. Johnny Miller, commentating, questioned the decision. But Jordan pulled it off and managed to salvage a bogey, after staring a triple bogey in the face.
The bogey sparked something in Jordan as he finally woke up. He proceeded to play looser and freer, and more determined to go out and win the tournament instead of playing not to lose it. Jordan rattled off a birdie, eagle, birdie, birdie, to win the Open Championship by 3 shots. It was perhaps the most amazing rebound in the final holes of a major.
Spieth now has 3 majors in his career.
