The Golf Blog says: On par 5 15th hole, Tiger Woods 2-putted for birdie to take the outright lead at -13, one better than Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele, and Brooks Koepka. Meanwhile, on the same hole with Tiger, the leader for most of the day, Francesco Molinari hit his second double bogey, to end his chances for another major. Tiger then followed on the 16th hole with a shot ending up a foot from the hole for another birdie, to reach -14 and open a 2-shot lead. Tiger then parred 17. Brooks Koepka was 2 shots back and needed to birdie 18, but missed a 10-footer. Tiger then didn’t go for the green on the 18th, but appeared to lay up and play to chip on with his 3rd shot and make bogey at worst. Tiger pitched to about 20 feet and needed 2 putts to win his 15th major. No problem for Tiger! What a closer.
What an incredible comeback for Tiger Woods! The 11-year drought is over! Second oldest player to win the Masters at 43 years old, second only to Jack Nicklaus, who was 46 years old in 1986. Is Jack Nicklaus’s 18 majors back on the clock? Stay tuned.
